Techniques in Dental Imaging
We are a dental practice that uses various techniques to concisely diagnose any dental issues that you may present. We use these techniques to better offer you treatments that will treat your condition or to verify that a treatment plan has worked. Dental imaging provides our dentist with insight into your oral health and have proven to be very useful for our dental practice. The following are the dental imaging techniques we offer at Complete Dental of York in York, Pennsylvania.
Among the most commonly used dental imaging techniques, digital X-rays are useful as they do not expose you to as much radiation as film X-rays do. The imaging results helps our dentist identify any growths or abnormalities in the gums, teeth and enamel with efficiency.
An intraoral camera is a small video camera that takes an image of the outside of the gum or tooth. The intraoral camera resembles an oversized pen. While simultaneously viewing a monitor, the dentist inserts the camera into a patient's mouth and gently shifts it about so that images can be taken from a variety of angles.Read more about Intraoral Camera
iTero Dental Impressions
The iTero Intraoral Scanner allows doctors to take a 3D digital scan of a patient’s teeth and bite rather than using a viscous impression material. This digital impression scanner can be used for veneers, crowns, bridges, surface inlays, onlays, implant abutments from single units to full arches and even modeling an Invisalign treatment. Patients are also able to view before and simulated after images of their dental treatments on an in-office computer display.Read more about iTero Dental Impressions
